Overnight Oats: Strawberry + Chia Seeds

Overnight oats make a great breakfast to start your day, get those engines roaring and fuelling you up for the blast of a day ahead. I made my first ever jar of overnight oats recently, taking on strawberries for the virgin attempt with this recipe right here. The ingredients were a friendly bunch, but I didn’t follow the list entirely because the supermarket was out of a couple of items like almond milk and greek yogurt — thankfully easily substitutable. The result tasted really wholesome and healthy with sweet hints from that bit of honey and those gorgeous strawberries. Overnight Oats with Strawberries + Chia Seeds Adapted from Buzzfeed’s recipe Ingredients 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup non-fat milk 1/2 cup nonfat yogurt 1 tablespoon chia seeds 1 teaspoon honey 4 large strawberries, cored and thinly sliced Mix all the ingredients up in a mason jar (or any air-tight container) and store it in the fridge for at least 6 and up to 24 hours. D’Good Cafe

Its cheesy name raises eyebrows and gathers slaps of mockery but I had heard many good (pun intended) things about D’Good Café and finally got the chance to check it out over brunch with two of my favourite girls two weeks ago. Don’t be fooled by what seems to be limited seating. There’s a reason why the tables aren’t all full at 11 on a Saturday — there are two storeys to this joint. D’good Cafe occupies level 2 and 3 of the shophouse that plies the same stretch as Starbucks and Hatched. For those unable to climb the stairs, fret not! You can take the elevator located through the glass doors of the clinic below. The cafe, ingested with rather adorable traces, is divided into four sections: The Bar, The Lawn (Level 2), The Attic & The Balcony (Level 3), which are all pretty self explanatory.
